We often feel that if we are working out we can have everything we want but this is not true. It is important to pay equal attention to your diet as your work out to gain maximum benefits out of your workout. Eat nutritious food. Include vegetables and fruits in your diet and stay away from refined carbs. Make sure you don’t include salt and sugar in your diet after 8pm. Stay away from fried and artificial sweeteners.
It is only when you sleep late you feel hungry during late hours and munch on junk and unhealthy carbs which result in over intake of calories. Ensure u sleep on time 2-3 hrs after your dinner, to avoid such late night munching sessions.
It is important to have a full heart pumping cardio session of 150 minutes per week so go for jog or swim or skip a rope to lose the fat around your problem areas.
Here is a list of exercises that will help you tone your abdomen muscles and get rid of the love handles
1) Side plank crunch
Doing 3 sets of 10-12 reps of side plank crunch will help you lose the love handles. Ensure you keep your core tightened throughout.
2) Classic wood chop with a ball
Performing 12 reps on each side will work up your abdominal and oblique muscles.
3) Russian Twist
This exercise works both on your abdomen and your love handles and helps to lose fat from both the areas. Make sure to keep your abdomen tight during the exercise. Complete 12 full rotations.
4) Side Plank
Side planks are very helpful in strengthening your core and losing fat from the abdomen and oblique. Make sure to keep your back straight when doing a side plank. Do 3 sets of 10-12 reps
5) Side crunches
Side crunches are a variation of crunches. Perform side crunches 12 times on each side and you will see your abdomen and oblique muscles working up. Doing everyday will help lose your love handles.
6) Twist Plank
Planks are the best way to work on your hamstirngs, glutes, shoulder, and thighs. Twist plank is a variation of standard plank so If you have mastered the standard plank, try twist plank to lose the love handles. For any plank it is important to keep your body in straight line at all times and your abs tight.
7) Leg Raise plank
Another plank variation that will help you lose the love handles is leg raise plank. They strengthen and tone your legs and abdomen. Do 10 lifts with each leg but try it only once you have mastered your planks.
